Warrior for Save Yourself. Then either go Imbagon for boredom, or simply don't use your 2nd prof skills and have fun

P/W is great for shouts. Either as energy management or for protection ("Save Yourselves!").

/W for save yourselves.
But you may want to use a /D for a critical scythe paragon.

P/A/W?
@OP, P/W is by far the best thing you could run in PvE.

Or you could bring go for the eyes and dervishes, where the dervishes are going to get criticals more often and for higher damage. That can be done regardless of secondary and by using spear you'll gain adrenaline faster than scythe.
Also secondaries hardly matter when by the time you actually hit 20 and can actually start making builds, there is an NPC that will let you change secondary at the push of a couple of buttons.

Yeah, but dervishes can't use the various Paragon IAS and adrenaline boosts, there for drastically lowering the rate of criticals on a dervish.
Though, that said, Dervishes are good for.. Other things.
A paragon can't juggle enchantments or use avatars like a dervish can.
On the contrary, if you have a dervish on the team, a paragon can play a huge support role in that way, making a dervish's damage even bigger.
Kind of like UA and HB monks, how an HB monk echos UA.
In this way, the insane party-wide critical support of a Scytheagon along with a Dervish in the frontlines would just all add up to overall insane damage, whether you're the dervish or the paragon.
It's not about who's better, but what you can do TOGETHER!
I still have yet to make a thread documenting on GFTE abuse, but will do so when I'm not lazy

Dont use avatars please. I realise that the Derv will be limited in its usefulness in any HM party, using avatars will not help.

Not to go offtopic, but if conjure Avatar of Grenth builds aren't useful for high damage, I don't know what is, for dervishes.

Doesn't Aura of Holy might cancel the cold damage of AoG?
and if so, I mean, why would you run a build without AoHM?

Very much agreed. You will find imbagon gets a hell'a boring and there IS other potential. You'll want to use it, trust me. (Though good luck with using anything other than imbagon when pugging)
